Material Topics Assessment

Our Material Topics

In 2017, we conducted a material assessment to frame and focus our sustainability efforts. This process repeats every 5 years to ensure our efforts remain relevant.

The current shortlist of relevant material topics is based on the WTTC (2017) assessment of issues critical to the future of travel and tourism.

Prioritisation

Seven primary topics were chosen based on importance to internal and external stakeholders: Climate Change, Pollution and Waste, Ethical Compliance and Corruption, Data Security, Employee Satisfaction, Leadership, and Biodiversity.

An additional four were included due to their importance to us: Staff Development, Supply Chain, Culture and Heritage, and Responsible Travel.

Stakeholder Engagement

We evangelise our sustainability philosophy within the travel and tourism industry and within our supply chain, while employing a cross-sector collaborative approach to engage individuals, businesses, NGOs, public and private institutions worldwide.

In our outreach efforts, we prioritise and actively pursue engagement opportunities with owners and investors, board, suppliers and developers, media, government, industry and the community at large.
